Great friendly staff that checked on us frequently. Our food was delicious!! We both go burritos that were very large and worth the money!! Definitely a good place to go!

I went with a group of 13. That is a challenge for most restaurants and this one definitely failed. They put four of us in a booth and then butted the other tables up to it. So, I ended up "serving" my booth-mates their margaritas (too full!!) and fajitas (duh, these are hot!!). I ordered the Pollo Cama (chicken with shrimp) and it was about as boring as I have ever experienced. No flavor to the shrimp at all. Rice was booooring. I asked for no cheese and what do you know, there was cheese on my beans when they came out. People have allergies, yo! In short, food was poor, service was apathetic, and I don't go out to serve my friends!

Solid three star joint. Good food at fair price. Flan is really good! Music was way too loud. Service was on the slow side. Filled my tummy and that was the point.

Oh boy ! Try a shot drive downtown to the Mexican district this one is a looser! Starting with cockroach infestation!!! And ending in unmemorable food ! Service is just adequate. Prices are too high for what you get but portions are big but lots of bad food it's just bad !

Pleasantly surprised by this place. Wasn't expecting anything extraordinary. Looks just like every other Mexican restaurant. BUT! Does not taste like one. I had the fried chicken tacos. Excellent! The wait staff was very friendly too. We will be back.

Despite arriving at 8:00 on a Valentine's Friday, we were seated and served quickly by a very friendly and competent staff. We had the Playa steak and carne asada tacos, both of which were hot, flavorful and tender. Beans and rice were also very good, as well as the queso. The only reason this restaurant didn't get 5 stars was because it took over 30 minutes to get our food. If you like a little adult beverage with your dinner I highly recommend the Tequila Sunrise. Very good!!

I'll tell you what, we had a party of like 20 people at 7pm at night and these employee's went above & beyond to make sure we were all happy. In addition to having an almost full restaurant, they took care of all our needs. The food is fantastic, I had the burrito..and they had a few different burrito options! Salsa is not watered down, and has great flavor. We drove here from east Wichita, its definatley worth the drive! Check it out :)

Food is decent, service is slow and incompetent. Second visit and we won't be back. During first visit, the order was messed up and late so they gave us a card for a free appetizer on our next visit. Six months later we gave them that second visit. Order was correct but service was a disaster, and they failed to honor the free appetizer card (it had no expiration or limitation stated). They ultimately gave us three dollars off appetizer. We are done with this place.

I love the art in this place From the minuet you walk in there is not a space that is not covered in colorful paintings. Am not a big fan of Mexican food but I enjoy one thing when I come to their restaurant And that's their desert FLAN ! Try it ! It's really good.

Hubby took a Thursday off from work and excitedly suggested that we eat lunch at Cancun's. We got there right at 11 am.Lights were off inside but the front door was unlocked -- so we went in and we were followed by a party of 3 men. A young lady came out from the back and seated us and then seated the other party. She wasn't smiling or happy, but she was efficient. She came back with chips and salsa (chips were cold) and asked for our drink order -- she also asked if we were ready to order. Hubby ordered the 'Tacos Al Pastor' and I decided to order the 'Grilled Chicken Salad'. Which was shown on their menu. It was supposed to have Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Broccoli, Carrots, Zucchini and Shredded Cheese along with the Grilled Chicken. When it arrived -- all of the veggies had been cooked and i could find no Carrots, but there were Mushrooms and Bell Pepper. It kind of reminded me of Fajitas on Lettuce. The Cheese was melted (Hubby thought it had been microwaved). What ended up happening -- was my lettuce wilted, then cooked, resembling cooked spinach. So my cool, refreshing salad was more like a SOGGY Stir-Fry! And although I was pleased to see the Mushrooms -- Bell Peppers (unless cooked all the way through) give me incredible heartburn. My Husband said although the 'Tacos A; Pastor' were good -- they are not consistent in their preparation (which is normally what I order, as well). The young lady checked on us several times and did refill our chips and salsa. I mentioned the problem with my salad and she said 'I'll talk to the Cook' and left it at that. I asked for boxes and I loaded up my veggies, minus the Bell Pepper and SOGGY Lettuce. When she picked up our plates she looked at what was remaining on my plate with a puzzled look, but no offers to replace it or 'Fix It' was ever offered. And her TIP reflected it. We are pretty consistent 20% Tippers, but not this time.

Mexican is a jack of all trades cuisine. Whether it's Americanized, authentic, pricey or economic, it encompasses such a broad range of dining preferences that trying new restaurants and dishes could easily become a life consuming pastime. Cancun Mexican Grill aims to fill the middling space between high priced and taco stand, and claims authenticity as well as offering items geared more toward the tastes preferences of the traditional American diet. I felt compelled to play both sides myself and ordered chorizo fundido to kick things off, with carne asada tacos to follow, and the intriguing xango cheesecake to round out the meal. Seconds after ordering, my chorizo topped queso blanco arrived, implying precooked sausage and a melting pot of warming cheese rather than freshly whipped up products. The medium-to-thick generic tortilla chips served alongside were of the same vein; warmed, lacking salt, and a bit stale rather than addictive the way freshly fried chips have a tendency to be. Optimistically, I thought that, with the rest of my meal still ahead, my stomach was almost assuredly better off not gorging on an appetizer anyway. As my steak tacos arrived, I did a visual assessment of the situation at hand: 3 flour tortillas housing thin strips of steak served with a cup of salsa and pico de gallo, and the seemingly required Mexican establishment side of refried beans. Lacking cheese, sour cream, guac, or any other potentials for topping, the main course had me a bit apprehensive. With marinaded, seasoned, and tender steak, the meat+tortilla+pico combination would provide sufficient materials to forge a respectable taco (a house made tortilla also would have given it a leg up). However, these particular tacos were absent each one of the prerequisites, leaving the meat overcooked, dry, and lacking the desired flavor of good carne asada. Two underwhelming courses consumed, dessert seemed unlikely to break the trend...providing one more perfect example of why one should never doubt dessert. Described to me as a 'fried flour tortilla with cheesecake filling and bananas, and a scoop of ice cream', xango cheesecake surely sounded the part of hero, and, had the rest of the meal to this point not been so lackluster, I would have anticipated quite a delicacy. Dressed with some effort, it was apparent that the cook took pride in the dish. And rightly so; the flavors surpassed the waitress' description, the pleasant plating, and my expectations. A burrito sized flour tortilla fried golden brown and dusted with cinnamon sugar acted as the vessel for a sweet-but-not-too-sweet cream cheese filling that was cut with fresh sliced banana and a layer of spiced brown sugar. Fried just long enough to crisp yet retain all the wonderfully contrasting creamy coolness of the filling, the shell was halved, separated by a centerpiece of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel sauce, and finished with a sprinkling of chopped pecans. Needless to say, I was impressed. The warm, crisp, savory tortilla mingled well with the cool banana and cream cheese, while the cinnamon added complexity with spice and the pecans brought a pleasant crunch to the party. Easily the star of the meal, xango cheesecake was a smashing success. Perhaps with some attention to technique and detail, and the same effort the dessert garnered applied to the rest of the menu Cancun can become an exotic getaway for your taste buds. Until then, I'll have to make do with the three day weekend of a dessert.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
